tribute to my dad....

My dad is a fashion critique
He doesn't like me wearing any tight, girly stuff. He thinks an architect should wear a tartan flanel long sleeve shirt and baggy trousers with lot of pockets. The only thing he agreed with me is my converse shoes.

He follows music trends and listens to Jason Mraz and Maroon Five. Jump in his car, always find some new hip cds... "Can i make a copy of this daadddd....."

My dad and Kungfu Series
For as long as i remembered, he always watched kungfu series... My niece got called "Princess Cheung Ping" by him

My dad is a musician...
He played guitar quite well. He impressed my mom before they got married, by singing in an american community band.... It was Speedy Gonzales, which afterward he sings it to his children couple timess.......I can easily picture him sing the " laa... lala lala lalalala......". He has terrific voice, Randy Jackson might told " Wow... man, you truly can sing... yow yow yow..." . I love doing karaoke with him.... Our favourite duet is Thousand Miles.... I still got the record, papss

My dad is cool
My 68 dad still wears adidas shoes and jeans to the office. He's into fashion alot... Could spend hours finding the pants, ties and shirt he wanted... His favorite, beige short pants and Hanes tshirt

My dad always smells good....
never go out without his favourite parfume. Even when he went to wet market... You can smell him like in 20 meter radius.

My dad is a great chef
He's an expert in making superduperdelicious spaghetti, well-known among his daughter's friends... His Ikan teri Fried Rice also makes me miss to come back home... Often find him making us Fish Ball Noodle in the morning..... "Paa... mau sarden pake tomat yang banyakk"

Just right on the garage, you'll find different pose of him hanging on the wall. He wore sunglasses, he without sun glasses, he's smiling... he is not.... he wore hat, he lifted the hat, T_T puh leez, now i know where i get the things from...

My dad rarely uses public transport..
Two years ago he insisted to go to Pasar Senen to buy me Char Siu using Metromini. We were worried like crazy..... He stated in mind.... that "When you go down from the bus must start with ur right leg, and when you up using your left leg..... ". That was the theory !!! When he came home, he said that (well okay) he got confused and ended using both legs,,,, that was really funny imagining him jumped out from the bus.

My dad and his six daughters.....
When we were little, twice a year he took us on vacation.... all six of us. When we grow older, we still are his babies. Never in a second he doesn't think about us.... always keep in touch, always sending mail, always phone you at the right moment when you feel down. Being surrounded by girls, makes him a very sensitive dad... (yeah pap, i think u're not born with it) , he easily cries...

He got 7 grandchildren. He and my mom often show up infront of my sister house without warning. Playing with the boys, making fun of the girls, all the grandies love love him.

Take him out for dinner and you never feel sorry to see how big his smile enjoying a big bowl of Vietnamese Noodle. We often watch film together, buy big pack of popcorn with extra butter and cups of pepsi, purrfecto.

My Friend Linda came !! (9-11 April 2009)
After a hectic businness trip to Singapore, she decided to to visit me here. She's the only visitor i have in years. For days i wonder where should i take her.... my first guest, remember? just want to show some cool, fun spot but had no clue yet.

Being picked up from the BBT Ferry Terminal and ate pastry and hot tea, we straigth ahead to my dorm... After pampered and chitchat we went to Nirwana Beach Club.... The plan was to show her the nicest beach.... but... the sand was awful, the rain washed the beauty of them... it supposed to be white crystal blue sandy beach.... Failed to give her good first impression.. sad me..

Spending the evening at Mana-mana Beach Club, we ordered double cheese pizza, nachos, pineapple juice for me and red wine for her. She was telling her plan to write a book....it's in the process already. It will be a story about someone who struggle her life in sickness. Her friend got a blood cancer since she was five. The story will be based on this girl who is the same age with me, who still survive, who still up and down in life, but still feel grateful to God. Cannot wait to read the book. And i really want to meet her in person.... i

After took some photoshot at Laluna...well she was an interior designer, so it's kinda important to take a picture of sail-like bench, white ornaments of the place, we went home, and watching Music and Me..... film that i've watched thousands time, and still cannot get enough of Hugh Grant...... I've been sleeping with the shadows overhead.......

Taking a nap...z z z zzz,

I had to go to Uban early in the morning, to have my first communion.

Right after i arrived at Lagoi, we directly go to the Ria Bintan to have our lunch. I ordered Beef tepanyaki and Linda ordered Oxtai Soup as i recommended....... talking about love live... girls talk.....

After a long hot sigthseeing the Golf Court (at this point, she was impressed, yee haw) we went to Bintan Lagoon to go swimming...... cooling the day.... Then, took 30 minutes car-ride we had dinner at Waiju at Uban, again she was impressed to the food. We ate gong gong, blackpepper crap, butter fried shrimp and kang kong......

we're so full like crazy...it's time to go home.

Woke up in the morning i made her a Tuna sandwich and Teh tarik...then she went back to Singapore...bye bye gals...see u around...in Jakarta.

Finally finished my kateksisasi study, never feel better. Finally i had completed my mom's wish this year. Above all, feel grateful for those who had been supporting me through 7 months. This song was sang by our group when the ceremony of our achievement been vowed and stated. Yes I sang.... the guitar played by Nathan, followed by Christian, Yessie, Nathan, Roy, Michael, Angel.

We received our first communion bread and wine, take a part in the church, be part of His body.I almost cried.... in the end, i feel that this process is important, i'm glad that i have to do it. No more doubt, i know what I choose, I know the path that I will take.... i know that some things must left behind, i understand for certain thing that has happened has brought me to this... I give my heart... totally....

Day II

Puter puter kelilling kompleks, ke rumah kita dulu di kompleks Jati terus ngeliat our old sekolahan sama gereja . After round-round :) we then went to Softball Field near the heliport

Finally, RCC Burger.... Ate it with a can of coke.... Wot a perfecto way to end lots of exhausted-photo sessions.. ..Spent the night rode along pekanbaru road.... again... taking photo at Riau Governor House.
On the way home, went to 'kedai'..... Na' you should tell us before...... nice toko, sayang cuman bentar.

Day II - (extended)
Makan the best gulai patin in the world !!

Ke Rumah Kakek di jalan Sumber Sari, met Oom Kimpul, adiknya mama .. Ngeliat contoh-contoh teraso yg jaman dulu kakek bikin di pabriknya...Jaman dulu udah keren banget rumah pake teraso.. Karena ga musim lagi, kata Oom ketinggalan jaman, sekarang di pake utk produksi batako dan paving block. Ketempat oom Djulham juga, ga berubah. Still love hearing the story of Kakek, yg badge card nya masih nomor 23.... Angkatan pertama waktu Caltex baru buka. Kakek yg kerjanya dulu bagian C&R, Construction and Repair.... I always wonder why i became architect....ternyata it's from his blood...Kakek yg said that I'm his Ugly Duckling (heiii....) abisan jelek sendiri d rumah, udah item, ceking kaya papan hehehe. Kakek yg pagi2 suka bareng2 jahit di teras depan, Kakek yg ngajarin the magic nine dan eleven. Kakek yg bisa macam2 bahasa... ...Kakek yg sayang kita semua... Love him truly.. So the story began......

Day III - 28/12/08

Danau Buatan - Manmade Lake, 30 minutes ride from Rumbai.. Ada Jembatan Gantung yang bagus bgt buat bikin foto Pre-Wed...Sayang lagi rusak, jadi ga bisa dilewatin. Nemu spot2 bagus buat foto2

Sengaja turun dekat Jembatan Siak yang deket sama Pabrik Karet....Still smell the same....bauu.. Kaget juga kok masih ada aja pabriknya.. Abis makan di mall SKA, penasaran kita ke Perpustakaan Pekanbaru. Setelah sebelumnya sempet malam2 kesana untuk foto2. Big building using 'book' form as the met hapore... Modern Style with Free Internet, Full Aircon, discussion Room, and Computer Area. Children Library Section nya lebih kaya book store... Very cozy.. with black sofa everywhere ...menyenangkan setelah seharian berpanas-panasan... Rizky langsung tidur di salah satu sofa nya. Satu hal , ga nyangka lagi, di pekanbaru gitu lho.. Perpustakaan nasional di Jakarta aja ga kaya gini..

Capek juga ternyata.....tepar setepar-teparnya......zzzz.....oh no...belum ke kaca mayang...

Day IV

Pagi pagi ke bandara nganter papa rizqi terus sarapan di Kim Teng , the most famous 'warung kopi ' se pekan Baru. Bubur ayam sama mie ayam nya bikin pengen nambah2 terus. Langsung Mesjid AN Nur sambil belanja ke pasar bawah beli ikan sale titipan mama. Lagi santai-santai di rumah (baca : ngupdate foto di facebook) Yanti telfon minta dibawain buah saga yg banyak, akhirnya ke rumbai lagi, gosh ternyata habis itu masih di bawa jalan2 ke sungai Ambang dan anjungan tintin. Yah oom belum mandi nih.... T_T

Met Tante, Isyana, Rizqi dan Theo the talented photographer from Tribun Pekanbaru....langsung makan sate cun, the best sate padang in town dan ke Mesjid Agung An-nur.....bagus banget full granit, didepannya ada kolam besar, dan lapangan parkir yang lega...pake eskalator pun... ga nyangka deh di daerah gini ada mesjid sebagus itu.

We still want to know....

What happened in those 19 years? What were their careers? How is poor George coping without Fred? Who remained friends with who? Who married who? Were there anybody else we knew amongst the 50 bodies after the battle at Hogwarts?

Where did Sirius actually go behind the veil? How did Lupin and Tonks actually die? Was little Teddy a werewolf? Did Hagrid receive an apology when they found out he didn't open the chamber of secrets?

We would even love a book on the Marauders time at school, so we could see the adults during their child hoods and their time at Hogwarts. We could see Voldemorts first attempt to power and how the original order dealt with everything. It would be such an amazing book which would also answer questions about Lily and James, what careers they had for example.

Could we please, please, please have an 8th book of some kind? The future looks empty without them!

What is water sprout?

A waterspout is an intense columnar vortex (usually appearing as a funnel-shaped that occurs over body of water and is connected to a cumuliformcloud. In the common form, it is a nonsupercell tornado over water, and brings the water upward. It is weaker than most of its land counterparts.

Seen in Singapore - May 26 == SINGAPORE is a very sheltered country. There are no natural disasters, no wars, no strikes, no historical relics to be proud of. Therefore, its citizens will get excited whenever there are any rare phenomenons or special events,. When there is tremor, everyone shouts "earthquake" and when there is free fireworks, everyone rus to see. Yesterday afternoon, at about 2.30pm, people sighted another rare phenomenon at the water of East Coast - a Tornado Water Sprout. Photos started to flood in Channel NewsAsia and videos to YouTube. Water Sprout is a common sight in Singapore, probably several times a year. It happens due to intense thunder storm, according to National Environment Agency (NEA).

"SINGAPORE: A waterspout has been spotted from the eastern parts of Singapore.

Most callers to the MediaCorp News Hotline reported seeing what looked like a tornado or a twister over the sea. The waterspout could be seen in several areas including Chai Chee, East Coast Park, Suntec City and Potong Pasir."

Southern All Stars are perhaps the most successful of all Japan's pop/rock acts. To give you an idea, they re-released 44 singles on the same day in June, 2005. The titles dated from their 1978 debut "Katte ni Sinbad" to 2000's "Tsunami." Every one of them went back into the Oricon charts, and the band basically took over the Top 50. Admittedly the highest ranked was at #18, but it's an impressive feat nonetheless. The extra sales also pushed "Tsunami" to over 3 million in all, making it the third best-selling single ever in Japan.

The above feat/marketing stunt was done as part of their 27th anniversary celebrations, which gives you an idea of the band's longevity and staying power. 2005 also saw them play an outdoor summer rock festival for the first time in 22 years and the long-awaited announcement of their first new album of original material in seven years. During that time they had done plenty of live shows and released a slew of singles. Charismatic frontman Kuwata Keisuke had also been doing well as a solo artist. But it is as a live band that they are best loved, and they are regarded as one of the best in the country, largely due to Kuwata's onstage persona.

The band's beginnings go back to the mid 1970s, when Kuwata was a student at Aoyama Gakuin University. While in a band called Better Days, he met Sekiguchi and Hara - who would become his wife in 1982. They were soon joined by guitarist Omori Takashi, drummer Matsuda Hiroshi and Nozawa Hideyuki on percussion. Their debut single "Katte ni Sinbad" came out in 1978 and just a year later they released their third single, the smash-hit ballad "Itoshii no Eri," which was later covered by no less an artist than Ray Charles (as "Ellie My Love"). Their lively performances had earned them a reputation as something of a comic band, but this hit marked them out as a group to take seriously.

Kuwata is the band's main songwriter. He grew up in the seaside and surfing town of Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture - perhaps growing up there is the reason why so many of their songs are associated with summer and the beach. The band's signature sound has to be Kuwata's distinctive husky voice and unusual singing style. Some say it sounds "foreign," unlike anything that had been heard in Japanese pop. They also play a kind of retro style of music, with lots of hooks and catchy melodies. Their fan base is huge and covers both sexes and all ages. In the autumn of 2005, they launched their biggest nationwide concert tour ever, playing to over half a million people in 11 cities, in support of "KIller Street" their first original album in seven years and an instant chart-topper and million-seller. This band is around to stay.

Going onboard with the Nurcholiss..... Roro adalah kapal pengangkut kendaraan lewat laut, and we're inside of it... Rada2 serem sih pas masuk nya pepet kiri kanan. (foto di atas) sayang gak billingual, surprise juga ada ''stewardess'' an di kapal roro.. Kira-kira begini bunyi nya : "......Assalamualaikum. Bapak-bapak dan ibu-ibu sekalian, kami memperagakan cara menggunakan life jacket untuk keadaan darurat. Caranya, sama dengan memakai baju biasa, lalu kancingkan talinya dan tiup peluitnya untuk meminta bantuan. Semoga bapak ibu senang dengan pelayanan kami, dan selamat sam-pai di tujuan.."

Dinner di Gadena..... sama pak nizar sekeluarga. Pizza nya sumpah enak, pdhl awalnya underestimate tempatnya, ga kalah deh sama pizza hut, rasanya sama .... dan lebih murah.. Pulang dari sini dikirain ada apa2 sama Yan.... anyway he's a good friend, aquarius sihhh, ditemenin seharian keliling Batam, ditungguin pas ke dokter.... digangguin malam minggunya. Lalu masukkan garam 2 cup, minyak 2 sendok dan air secukupnya.....trus duk aduk sampe adonan tercampur....siapkan botol plastik aqua, lantas bentuk deh adonan jadi mirip gunung betulan. Kasih air, awas jangan penuh-penuh. Kasih pewarna kue, warna merah biar warna laharnya heboh. Berikan diterjen, trus kasih baking soda. 1 sendok atau 2 sendok ya?

Went to EX, had early lunch at Sushi Tei.....

Kina, my pretty niece, accompanied me to go to Kampung Cina to get some ideas. Do You Need to Lose Weight?

Irr : "playing and making pinata is always be an annual event in every ocassion in my home, usually when christmas come... Now brought and shared it with friends in Bintan,, whoalla, we made more than 15 pinatas...."

Prepare:
Tear several pages of newspaper into strips, approximately 1 inch wide by 6-8 inches long. Don’t try to be neat and cut them with scissors; the torn edges will adhere more closely and give a smoother overall surface to the finished pinata.

Paper Mache Recipe:
Next, it’s time to prepare the paper mache paste by using a simple mixture of flour and water. Use a disposable bowl to facilitate easy clean-up afterwards. Mix one part flour with 2 parts water until you have a consistency like thick glue. Add more water or flour as necessary. Squeeze out all the lumps and add a tablespoon or two of salt to help prevent mold.

Layering:
Blow up your balloon and place it in a shallow bowl to prevent it from rolling as you work on it. Spray or brush on a light coating of vegetable oil to keep the balloon from adhering to the newspaper when you pop it. Dip a newspaper strip into the flour mixture to coat, and apply it to the balloon at an angle vertically, and overlapping. Continue this process until the entire balloon is covered, leaving a small hole at the top from which to remove the balloon and fill the pinata. Let the first layer dry completely. Each layer will take up to 24 hrs. to dry.

Apply a second layer to the balloon, this time angling the strips in a horizontal direction, and overlapping. Let dry and finish with a third layer.The third layer should always be made from torn strips of white computer paper or paper towels. This allows for easier paint coverage when it's time to decorate. When your project is completely dry, pop the balloon and remove it through the opening at the top.

Decorate It!
Decorate your pinata with vibrant colors, paint a face on it, add crepe paper hair and eyelashes - be creative! Hang crepe paper streamers from the bottom of the pinata for the final touch.

Fill and Hang:
Make 3 or 4 small holes around the top opening and thread a strong piece of string or yarn through them. Tie a longer string to it for hanging.
Fill your pinata with wrapped candy, small toys and other goodies.

Playing the Pinata Game:
Hang the pinata securely and spread a blanket or sheet under it. Each player gets a chance to break the pinata. Blindfold the first player and give them a bat or stick. Spin them 2 or 3 times and point them in the direction of the pinata. Players get 2 or 3 hits to break the pinata. (For smaller children, feel free to omit the blindfolding and spinning.) When the pinata breaks, the children each get a portion of the candy. Give each child a small bag to hold their goodies.

Caution: Adult supervision is necessary to keep children a safe distance from the player swinging at the pinata. Kids are sure to rush in when the first pieces of candy fall, unaware that the player is still swinging.

Paper Mache Recipe Options:
Recipe #1 - One part flour to five parts water. Boil on stovetop for 3 minutes and let cool.
Recipe #2 - 3/4 cup white glue to 1/4 cup water
Recipe #3 - liquid starch found at your supermarket

DRAWING VECTOR IN PHOTOSHOP

It immediately becomes a vexel once you put brush strokes in it or anything else besides vector shapes, which in this case doesnt apply. This was done in PS which is a raster program yes, but everything you see in this image is formed by vector shapes, absolutely nothing flattened/rasterized. PS is a raster program, and even if it`s vexel shapes, if you zoom, at one point you will have pixel. What a waste of time ! If Using so many layers and Photoshop to draw vectors is just the wrong way. Reasons not to use bitmap editing tools (PS, The GIMP...) to draw vector images :
* You have to deal with thousands of layers
* Shapes have to be flattened, so can't be edited
* The whole drawing process is a nightmare, but is great way to test you patience.
* Bitmaps can't be zoomed in when a vector image don't have a size.
* Good vector-based softwares like Inkscape have everything an artist need, even great blending effects, but you first have to learn how to use them.

I think you should give Illustrator an other chance, or try an other software. You probably spent too much time using PS and now you stick with it for the wrong reasons because switching to an other tool seems too painless. switch ! Trust me, you won't regret it !

Because I Said So (2007)

Daphne has married off two of her three daughters, and is now fixated on ending the horrible dating luck of Milly, her last single daughter. So, she does what any sane mother would do: She holds interviews for her daughter's potential mates by way of a profile on an online dating service. Love triangles and trapezoids surface and "hilarity" ensues. While the movie isn't as wacky as it tries to be, it does deliver a couple of funny and heartwarming moments. Milly's sisters Maggie and Mae (played by Lauren Graham and Piper Perabo) bring some much needed sensibility to the family. Johnny (Gabriel Macht) and his family also provide a perfect juxtaposition with the more tightly wound family of his unknown competition -- Jason (Tom Everett Scott.) Overall the performances may have been good -- but the film itself had more trouble. It played more like a collection of romantic comedy cliches than a solid film on its own. I left the theater feeling like I'd seen this movie before, only I'd seen a version that had better writing. The director should really have thrown the script out and tried it over with better material. They nailed the casting -- the script was the problem.

Diane Keaton: Plays the neurotic mom like no other, but almost too well -- for me, the movie ended up suffering because I was just unable to root for her later.

Mandy Moore: Delivers a solid performance as the insecure Milly, following up on her appearances in American Dreamz and Saved! (What I wonder though, is how an "insecure" daughter so constantly reminded of her shortcomings can have such a great singing voice and performing presence.)

Gabriel Macht: He is charming and disarming as the easygoing single dad and guitarist who crashes Daphne's arranged courtship. You're rooting for him the entire time.

"Because I Said So" spoken 4 times. A song is sung by Milly and family twice. Baked goods are burned, dropped, or otherwise spoiled at least a (bakers) dozen times.

Irr : Collect them since 1997, got the first novel 'Rogue' accidentally at bookstore at Plaza Indonesia. My favourite was Comanche, read it time to time. They supposed to make a film based on this. It will be a hit-maker. Got his last two novels which were very rare in 2002 surprisingly by mike from sing when he worked at jb. Total I have 8 Fabio novels. Cosmopolitan said he's "Sexiest Man in the World", and People claimed that he's "One of the 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year. He has been on over 400 book covers - Romance, Science Fiction and Fantasy.

Amazed that he's that famous. He was in MTV fighting with Bono the tv show where the clay-model fight at the boxing stage, fighting. A year ago from American next Top Model, he also showed up as the guest star doing photo shoot with the models... The title all were ridicullous, yet funny, see following .... 'who's my baby's daddy', and 'don't leave me', the winner of the competitin (season 7) was Caridee that doing the 'But I love her' novel cover with him.

First came here, there much nothing to do with the coco. Oh why oh why..

He's not less a cute that Paul Frank...

And open the the possibility that he can be a she?! Then i've been given the opportunity to dress the coco ...yay... had a lot of fun accecorized it... playing with glasses, lipstick, cute hat, ribbon, he's as naughty as paul.. Most of all, he has personality...

With some defect here and there, too late to revised my coco-nose for last year gong-xie that accidentally got discoloured, and siska said 'ma, kok idung coco jadi pesek ya?' oops...take a note for next year. One thing that still questioning in my head.. same when first i saw Paul with body. Paul is a monkey....Coco-head??? He's just a head..it'll be so creepy seeing him with hands or legs....Amazed we have one coco-clown with hands come out from his EYESSSS... yaikk,, how to explain to the children...
